  • What is Zenagen?
Zenagen offers natural and cruelty-free shampoo and conditioner treatments for optimal scalp and hair health.
  • What are the other options out there and why should I choose Zenagen or NSG toppers over those?
Hair Transplantation While there have been dramatic advancements in this technology, it nevertheless requires surgery which is not only painful but expensive and requires some down time for recovery. Typically, this will be an incision approximately 3” in length done on the rear and sides of the scalp and then transplanted to the cranial area of concern (typically in men the frontal hairline or the crown areas). However, it is not mathematically possible to have enough donor area to replace the entire cranial area, and even in today's modern technology (where they now can do individual hairs) typically, it will require multiple surgeries to obtain any form of decent results it is also well known that not all areas will successfully be transplanted and ore often than not the texture of the hair from these areas will not match the definition of the frontal hairline. Complications with hair transplants Bleeding Itching Infection Swelling of the scalp Bruising around the eyes A crust forms on the area of the scalp where hair was extracted from the donor area or injected into the new implant site Numbness or lack of sensation on the treated area of the scalp Extremely high cost, possibly not covered by insurance Transplant rejection Rogaine or minoxidil Topical solution with a vasodilator which increases blood circulation to the scalp tissue and the principle behind this is by increasing blood circulation to the follicle area it will eradicate DHT build up thus insuring a healthy blook circulation to the follicle. This needs to be applied both morning and night. Does not always provide great results and needs to be used indefinitely. There are side effects such a increased heart rate and palpitations. Propecia AKA Finasteride This was found accidentally during clinical trails with a pill known as Proscar during trials for enlarged prostate. A 5mg pill is a very potent drug to such an extent that if a pregnant woman merely handles the pill she has the possibility of aborting the cold purely by absorbing this drug through her sweat glands. It was during trials that scientists noticed that participants showed added hair regrowth and they brought out the 2mg pill known as Propecia. Finasteride is a 5 alpha reductase suppressant and by suppressing alpha reductase you reduce the amount of DHT in the body therefore allowing more circulation to the scalp and hair follicle. Concerns are that women cannot take this drug due to its potency, a script is required from a doctor to beable to purchase the drug, and it has been known to have side effects that effect the male libido. Results are limited at best. Laser Treatments This is a newer technology and comes in a number of different formats to use. If you are going to a studio to have the treatment done, typically this will be in the shape of a standard hooded salon hair dryer. It has a number of different diodes (approximately 150-200 depending on the unit and manufacturer). These diodes transmit an infrared laser eam onto the scalp which penetrates into the epidermis layer approximately 0.03 millimeters into the tissue. This stimulates added blood circulation tot he scalp. You would need to purchase a number os sessions (2-4 sessions weekly for 45-60 minutes each session) this treatment requires years of treatments to see a noticeable amount of results. Laser cap allows you to do this at your on convenience at home, but can still be costly. These lasers need to be used morning and evening on a daily basis. NSG provide immediate gratification and a non-invasive instant solution. It can provide an affordable solution to hair loss concerns with no pain or downtime. You get immediate results that are long-lasting and life-changing.
  • Does a hair replacement system solve hair loss?
Hair loss occurs when DHT accumulates around the hair follicle reducing the nutritional supply and as this is ongoing hair loss will continue, but due to the blood flow this is restricted to the cranial area. So by replacing the hair in this area with NSG, you will achieve a remarkable result giving you the look and feel of a full/thick head of hair.
  • What activities can people do with NSG?
One of the benefits of NSG is that it affords you the opportunity to continue to live a normal, active lifestyle, but with a renewed confidence and overall younger appearance.
  • How is the NSG attatched to the scalp?
It will be attached to the client’s affected area using either liquid adhesive, tape, or possibly both. This is something that will be decided in the initial consultation depending on the client's lifestyle, skin type, and what type of base was chosen. Sometimes you may try different adhesive methods until you find the one that gets the longest wear for your client.
  • What activities can people with NSGs do?
All NSG systems are made with 100% human hair, and as such, they can be treated like any other hair. Wash it, style it, color it, live in it! Enjoy confidently! As for hair products anything that can be used on your naturally-growing hair can also be used on an NSG. For best results, avoid products with harsh ingredients and use NSG-specific products.
  • How often will I need to maintain my NSG with a salon professional?
Every so often, the NSG will need to be removed, cleaned, resecured, or otherwise maintained by a salon professional. The frequency of these visits varies from person to person and can be affected by factors such as hair growth, natural scalp oiliness, etc.
  • What is the lifespan of the NSG system?
The lifespan of your NSG will depend on your lifestyle and how well you care for it. This is typically about 6 months, though it can sometimes be extended up to 18 months.
